ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Funeral Mass for Lloyd N. Simpson, 77, of St. Charles was held Friday at St. Robert Bellarmine Church.

Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in North Florissant, Mo., with graveside military rites.

Simpson died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at his home.

He was born Aug. 8, 1923, at Commerce, Mo. , son of Lloyd and Ruth Duckworth Simpson. He and Mary Ellen Harting were married Sept. 25, 1948. She survives of the home.

Simpson was an assistant professor at the Washington University Department of Neurology for 37 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Other survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Simpson Feeler of St. Charles; a brother, Harold L. Simpson of Clayton, Mo.; two nieces, Sharon Lee Simpson of Cape Girardeau and Linda S. Flanagan of Nashville, Ark.; a great-niece, Laura Johnston of Cape Girardeau; a great-nephew, Aaron Johnston of St. Louis; and several cousins.

Stygar Mid-Rivers Funeral Home in St. Charles handled funeral arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
