Lloyd J. Law, 88, of Jackson died Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 27, 1930, in Gideon, Missouri, to Harvey and Alice Struby Law. He and Sellavene Law were married Aug. 12, 1955, at Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Lloyd ranked private first class in the Army, having served in Korea, where he received the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, a United Nations medal and a National Defense Service Medal.

He was a member and had served as a deacon of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church.

He was an elementary principal and director of elementary education at Jackson R-2 Schools.

He was a Mason with Jackson Masonic Lodge, VFW, and past commander of Jackson American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Sellavene Law of Jackson; one daughter, Janie (Robert) Cox of Jackson; three sons, Terry (Glenda) Law of Columbus, Indiana, Rickey (Susan) Law of St. Louis and Brian (Amy) Law of Birmingham, Alabama; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy, Amie, Jenna, Travis, Gabrielle, Sadie, Jordan, Jason, Lauren and Whitney; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at noon today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Law officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be given to charity of choice.
