CHARLESTON -- Lloyd Phillip Hayden Jr., 61, of Hartford, W.Va., died Monday, May 6, 1996, from injuries received in a construction accident near Toledo, Ohio.
He was born Sept. 10, 1934, in Wyatt, son of Lloyd Phillip and Thelma Justine White Hayden Sr. He and Diane Stewart were married May 23, 1986.
Hayden moved from Mississippi County to Gallipolis, Ohio, and then to Hartford. He was a member of Ironworkers 769 in Ashland, Ky., and Gallipolis Elks Lodge 107. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Dennis Hayden of East Prairie, Richard Hayden of Sikeston, Jerry Hayden of Panama City, Panama, Russell Hayden of Chicago, Mark Hayden of Minneapolis, Minn.; two stepsons, Brian and Russell Edwards of Hartford; four brothers, Charles Hayden of Bertrand, Delbert Hayden of Chesapeake, Va., Lowell Hayden of Cherokee Village, Ark., Johnny Hayden of Valinda, Calif.; four sisters, Doris Rose and Beverly Harris of Charleston, Annie Ellis of East Prairie, Sheila Kersey of Denver, Colo., and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
