Lloyd T. "Peanuts" Gaither, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Heartland Care Rehab Center. He was born Sept. 11, 1907, at Zalma, Mo., daughter of Nuba Alonzo and Maggie Eaker Gaither. He and Ruth L. Lindsay were married June 11, 1931, in Jonesboro, Ill. She died July 10, 1991...

Lloyd T. "Peanuts" Gaither, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Heartland Care Rehab Center.

He was born Sept. 11, 1907, at Zalma, Mo., daughter of Nuba Alonzo and Maggie Eaker Gaither. He and Ruth L. Lindsay were married June 11, 1931, in Jonesboro, Ill. She died July 10, 1991.

Gaither was a loader for J.D. Street Oil Co., retiring in 1972.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Gaither of Crosby, Texas, David Gaither of Cape Girardeau, Tom Gaither of Scott City; a sister, Pearl Young of Rolla, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, three sisters and a great-grandson.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home today from 10 a.m. until time of service.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery.
