Lloyd Herbert "Herb" Bohnert, 63, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Feb. 5, 1942, in Perryville, Mo., son of Otto G. and Edna Tanz Bohnert. He and Shirley Ackman were married Sept. 2, 1962, in Cape Girardeau...

Lloyd Herbert "Herb" Bohnert, 63, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Feb. 5, 1942, in Perryville, Mo., son of Otto G. and Edna Tanz Bohnert. He and Shirley Ackman were married Sept. 2, 1962, in Cape Girardeau.

Herb graduated Perryville Senior High School in 1960 and then enlisted in the Army National Guard. On May 1, 1961, he went to work at Spartech Plastics in Cape Girardeau. Herb was still employed at Spartech as the shipping department manager. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown and in 1961 became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. Herb was a former usher and member of the men's club at church, a former Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader, and enjoyed sports.

Loving survivors include his wife; two sons, Kevin Bohnert and wife Dona of Crawfordville, Ark., and Paul Bohnert and wife Karen of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Raymond Bohnert and wife Ruby of Perryville; and five grandchildren, Kaylyn, Maggie, Jonathan Lloyd, Logan and Jonathan Levi Bohnert.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Nicholas Lloyd Bohnert.

Friends may call Monday, Aug. 15, between 4 and 8 p.m. at the McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Trinity Living Hope, Trinity Children's Message, or the Trinity Lutheran School Building Fund.
