Lisa Anne Meriwether Snider, 66, died unexpectantly on Nov. 27, 2020, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Lisa was born on Dec. 16, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Charles Bobo and Nancy Spotswood Meriwether.

Lisa inherited the gift of music from her parents, who were founding members of the Memphis Opera Theater. At the young age of 16, Lisa won the esteemed Grace Moore vocal scholarship and attended the University of Tennessee where she studied with the renowned opera vocal coach Dr. Edward Zambara.

Lisa is preceded in death by her father, Charles Bobo Meriwether, her mother Nancy Sue Spotswood Meriwether, her son Charles Nicholas Sanders and her husband Frank Lesley Snider, Jr.

She leaves behind four daughters, Catherine (Daniel) James of Clarksville, Tennessee, Margaret "Maggie" (Robert) Ossman, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, Angela Marie Snider of Childress, Texas, and Rachel Armes of Fredericktown, Missouri; six grandchildren, Nigel, Elijah, and Elias James; Cole and Meriwether Ossman, and Sophia Rose; one brother, Stan Haskell from San Francisco and one sister, Sue Meriwether Burkhalter of Natchez, Mississippi. She also leaves behind her aunt and uncle, Dr. and Mrs. Rogers D. Spotswood of San Antonio, Texas, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will hold a small private celebration of Lisa's life with close friends and family in Cape Girardeau with plans for her interment next spring at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI), or to the Metropolitan Opera Fund supporting the music Lisa so passionately loved.
