Linus W. "Mox" Quade, 86, of Burfordville, Mo., passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 14, 1919, south of Burfordville, son of John W. and Lara Kinder Quade. He and Jessie E. Brown were married August 25, 1950.
Quade did carpentry work for many years while also farming near Burfordville. In 1974 he went to work in the Cape Girardeau Parks Department, retiring in 1982. He was an avid gardener. He was a member of the Burfordville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Linda Quade of Burfordville and one grandson, Scott Quade.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cleman and Norman Quade.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond V. Epps officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
