MARBLE HILL -- Linus James, 83, of Marble Hill died Friday, Oct. 2, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born near Scopus on July 25, 1909, the son of John A. and Laura Jane Masters James. He married Pearl Lincoln on Aug. 19, 1934. She preceded him in death June 5, 1985...

MARBLE HILL -- Linus James, 83, of Marble Hill died Friday, Oct. 2, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born near Scopus on July 25, 1909, the son of John A. and Laura Jane Masters James.

He married Pearl Lincoln on Aug. 19, 1934. She preceded him in death June 5, 1985.

He is survived by one son, Junior Glen James, Cedar Hill; two daughters, Olene Newell, French Village, Mo., Wilma Carver, High Ridge; one brother, Elmer James, Arbor; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Four brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home at Marble Hill after 3 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Liley Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Bollinger County Memorial Park.
