Linus F. Emmendorfer, 83, of Perryville passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by family.
He was born Sept. 30, 1940, in Point Rest to Franklin G. and Elvira M. Brewer Emmendorfer.
He and Wanda M. Bishop were married on July 29, 1983, in Paducah, Kentucky. She survives in Perryville.
Linus was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from U.S. Department of Defense as an aircraft inspector. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. Linus was a charter member of the Elks and a member of the American Legion, Eagles, AmVets and Knights of Columbus.
His passion of genealogy, music, woodworking, fly fishing and camping gave him happiness which he shared with others to enjoy life’s blessings.
Survivors include two sons, Edward (Loretta) Emmendorfer and Kenneth (Lisa) Emmendorfer; one daughter, Karen (Curtis George) Shepherd; two stepdaughters, Michele (Todd) Ransom and Melinda (Chris) Hill; two brothers, Robert (Edna) Emmendorfer and William (Mercedes) Emmendorfer; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Christopher Shepherd; and stepson, Shane Blechle.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with Elks service at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 11, at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville. Visitation will continue from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the funeral home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the funeral home, with Pastor Christopher Seah officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites provided by American Legion Post No. 133, will be at Home Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given for family use.
