She was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio, daughter of Hershel and Magdalene P. Layton Wagner. She and Alan E. Reed were married Aug. 10, 1948, in Piggott, Ark.

Reed worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. many years. She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Randy Reed of St. Louis; two daughters, Sondra Summers of Cape Girardeau, Cynthia Talbert of Cahokia, Ill.; a brother, Willis Wagner of Thebes, Ill.; a sister, Orene Perry of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.
