SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lindon Winford Duncan, 82, of Sikeston passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at the family home.

He was born Oct. 23, 1936, in Matthews, Missouri, to the late Orril William and Lema Mae Holland Duncan. On Aug. 19, 2003, he married Jackie Sue Wagoner, who survives of the home.

Lindon was a retired troubleshooter/lineman for Ameren UE. He was a member of Sikeston Masonic Lodge No. 310 and St. Louis Scottish Rite-Valley St. Louis Orient of Missouri. He also was a member of the Shriners International Club in Springfield, Missouri--Adou Ben Adhem Shrine.

Lindon grew up in Sikeston, where he excelled in sports at Sikeston High School. He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball organization and played for several years during the 1950s. He later lived in Chaffee, Missouri, and was a long-time fast-pitch softball player in Southeast Missouri. He was a proud member of the 1967 Missouri state championship team sponsored by Schindler's Tavern in New Hamburg, Missouri. He was a member of the Southeast Missouri Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame.

He was active as a Youth League coach in Chaffee in the 1960s and 1970s. He also enjoyed spending his winters with Jackie at his home in Homosassa Springs, Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Duncan of Sikeston; a son, Lindy (Sharyn) Duncan of Jackson; three daughters, Cindy (Ron) Mix of Lathrop, California, Amanda (John) Waugaman of Huntington, West Virginia, and Angela (Jim) Tinnin of Festus, Missouri; along with their mother, Sue (Watkins) Sherry; a stepson, Jeff (Jana) Limbaugh of Sikeston; and a stepdaughter, Toni Curtis of Morley, Missouri.

In addition, he is survived by 10 grandchildren, Morgan Mix Seborowski of Winnetka, Illinois, Ashleigh Mix Fox of Columbia, Missouri, Candice Duncan O'Hare of Jackson, Carmen Duncan Diebold of Gordonville, Josh Duncan of Jackson, Allyson Duncan Schnurbusch of Cape Girardeau, Duncan Waugaman of Cape Girardeau, Abby Tinnin of Cape Girardeau, Hunter Waugaman of Huntington and Alex Tinnin of Festus; and five stepgrandchildren, Blake Bruenderman of Morley, Austin Edwards of Morley, Holly Limbaugh Seyer of Gordonville, Jake Van Pool of Sikeston and Ryan Van Pool of Sikeston; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Missouri.

Funeral will be at noon Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Chad Bles officiating. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
