Lindle O. Crites, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born May 29, 1924, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Kergious and Ella Seabaugh Crites. He and Juanita (Holshouser) Crites were married June 5, 1948, in Cape Girardeau County.
He served in the Army during World War II in Burma, China and Indonesia, receiving three Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal Presidential Citation.
He worked for Moon Distributors Inc. for 39 years, retiring in 1986. He was a driver at local car dealerships for five years.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3838 and a member of TPA.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita (Holshouser) Crites of Cape Girardeau; a son, Randy Crites and his wife, Janet, of Jackson; four daughters, Linda Martin and her husband, Ken, of Cape Girardeau, Joan Seabaugh and her husband, Ken, of Cape Girardeau, Judy Parker and husband Terry of Jackson, and Nancy Fadler and her husband, Kevin, of Pocahontas; a brother, Kergious Crites and his wife, Mary, of Cape Girardeau; Iola Amelunke and her husband, Melvin, of Whitewater; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Fairbank of Cape Girardeau, Trisha Lynch of Jackson, Jessica McGinty and her husband, Charles, of Jackson, Rebecca Seabaugh of Brentwood, Mo., Sarah Henderson and her husband, Larry, of Cape Girardeau, Jennifer Spies and her husband, Chris, of Scott City, and Jessica Lee and her husband, Dereck, of Scott City; and four great-grandchildren: Blake Fairbank of Cape Girardeau, Nicholas Fairbank of Oregon, Riley Mae Henderson of Cape Girardeau and Makayla Spies of Scott City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Launa Crites and Molly Lacy, and a grandson, Chris Johnson.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Moon officiating.
Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. Full military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 3838 and the Missouri Honors Team.
