CHARLESTON -- Lindell E. "Jack" Hailey, 70, of Charleston, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1992, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 5, 1923, in the Crosno Community of Mississippi County, son of Fred and Willie M. Butler Hailey.
He married Evelyn Cox, July 2, 1943.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
Hailey lived in Mississippi County most of his life and was employed with the Rolwing Moxley Elevator Company until his retirement in 1987.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbus, Ky.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; two sons, Jackie Hailey and Jerry Hailey, both of Charleston; two daughters, Mary Ann Nelson of Charleston, Evelyn Sue Hailey of Edgar Springs, Mo.; two brothers, Harold Hailey and Fred Hailey, both of Charleston; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and a grandson.
Friends may call after 4:30 today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, with the Rev. J.L. Laughlin officiating.
Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
