Lindell William Karraker, 90, of Scott City died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Karraker was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Illmo, Mo., son of Herbert Lee Karraker and Clara Etta Morrow. He and Eileen Delores Smith were married Feb. 7, 1942, in Benton, Mo. She preceded him in death.
He was a fireman with Union Pacific Railroad for more than 40 years and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Karraker was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City and United Transportation Union.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Kelpe and Brenda Sanford, both of Scott City; two sisters, Helen Welter of Kelso, Mo., and Wanda Kilzer of Collinsville, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Eisleben Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City, with full military graveside rites by the Missouri Honors Team.
