Linda Diane Nash, 71, of Jackson passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 3, 2021, at her home. Linda was born March 24, 1950, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to Carl and Wanda Dockins Clark. She and Philip H. Nash were married July 28, 1979, in Jackson. Linda Diane Nash, 71, of Jackson passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 3, 2021, at her home.

Linda was born March 24, 1950, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to Carl and Wanda Dockins Clark. She and Philip H. Nash were married July 28, 1979, in Jackson.

Linda was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and went on to earn her bachelor's and master's degrees in history from Southeast Missouri State University. She worked as an educator, teaching history at Jackson Senior High School for 31 years. After retiring from Jackson R-II Schools in 2003, Linda went on to serve as a grant writer and project director for two Teaching American History grants and then as the executive director for CASA/Voices for Children in Cape Girardeau.

Linda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cape Girardeau. In her free time, she enjoyed creating beautiful flower gardens and sharing their beauty with those she loved.

Linda was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 42 years, Philip H. Nash; two children and their families, Lori Mahala and her husband, Terry Shirley, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Isaac Gabriel Nash of Jackson; five stepchildren and their families, Michael (Dannine) Nash of San Antonio, Sarah Nash-Creel of Atlanta, Sabina Childers of Cape Girardeau, James (Jeralie) Nash of Ashton, Idaho, and Philip D. (Jan) Nash of Kaysville, Utah; and two siblings, Allen (Joyce) Clark of Cape Girardeau and Dennis (Dorothy) Clark of Louisville, Kentucky.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Bishop James Nash officiating.
