Linda Little, daughter of the late Louis and Marietta Mantel Gilmer, was born Nov. 8, 1950, in Cape Girardeau and departed her life Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau at the age of 71 years.
She graduated from Chaffee (Missouri) High School in 1968 and went on to attend Southeast Missouri University, receiving a bachelor of science and a master's degree. Linda was a former employee of Southeast Missouri State University, serving as academic advisor of nursing from 1989 to 2012. She was very passionate about helping students succeed in their career.
Linda was a member of the Cape First Church. She enjoyed being around church family and listening to a variety of gospel groups such as Gaither Family and The Crabb Family. Linda was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, enjoyed dancing and treasured moments with her family and friends.
On Aug. 29, 1970, she was united in marriage to Thomas E. Little in Chaffee. He survives of the home in Oak Ridge.
Besides her husband, survivors include a son, Eric Little of Webster Groves, Missouri; daughter, Lori (Kevin) Moyers of Jackson; and four grandchildren, Caleb, Olivia, Alice and Molly.
Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Gilmer; two sisters, Patricia Davis and Judy Millham; and a stillborn child.
Visitation and funeral were held Feb. 28 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating. Interment followed at the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
