H.L. "Linc" Ward, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 3, 1998, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
He was born Jan. 30, 1909, in Charleston, son of John Thomas and Dollie Davenport Ward. He and Lena Jackson were married Feb. 15, 1941, at Bloomfield. She died Nov. 18, 1994.
Ward was a Maxwell House Coffee salesman with General Foods Corp. 28 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and its Raymond Sheets Sunday School Class, and member of a Masonic Lodge. He moved to Cape Girardeau 47 years ago from St. Louis.
Survivors include two sons, Tom and Bob Ward of Cape Girardeau; a brother, John Ward of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-7 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. John Owens officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
