Lina Stroder, 84, of Jackson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, December 24, 2023, at her home in Jackson.

Lina was born Aug. 17, 1939, in Altengronau, Germany, to her parents, Adam Casper and Klara Unger Euler. She and Harold Stroder were married April 11, 1969. He survives.

Lina was a first-generation immigrant to the United States. While living in Chester, Illinois, she was active at First Baptist Church. She and Harold moved to Jackson, where she attended Cape County Cowboy Church and served in the nursery.

Lina and Harold owned and operated Stroder Country for eight years. She later worked at Dents Make Cents in Jackson. She was active at Jackson Senior Center. She enjoyed sports cars, was a shopping enthusiast and loved her pets.

Lina was a loving mother and wife, and she especially loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lina is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harold Stroder; children, Terry (Sandy) Stroder of Rockport, Indiana, Peggy Malott (Robert Lyday) of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Patty (Doug) Williams of Woodlawn, Illinois, Joy (Ben) Mattausch of Tucson, Arizona, and Nikki (Cole) Burton of St. Peters, Missouri; grandchildren, Brittany (Zach) Jones, Aaron Stroder, Michael Stroder, Harlow Burton and Lake Burton; great-grandchildren, Miles Stroder, Bentley Stroder, Allie Stroder, Peyton Stroder and Briar Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home, with Rev. Don Estes officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.

The family would like to thank St. Francis Hospice Care Team and affiliates for the thoughtful care they gave to our beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Shawnee Hills Baptist Church or the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
