Lily F. Reynolds, 90, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born May 15, 1928, in Hiroshima, Japan, the daughter of Shigeo and Yurie Muranaka Shintani. A survivor of the Hiroshima bomb, she and Cline L. Reynolds were married Dec. 9, 1953, in Yokohama, Japan. He preceded her in death Sept. 25, 1997.
She graduated from Yousai Gakuen-Hiroshima Fashion Institute and attended University of Yokohama.
She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone. She was also an accomplished artist, having painted dozens of still-life canvases and portraits of her entire family.
She was a charter member of La Croix United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a loving son, Burl L. (Ann) Reynolds of Cape Girardeau; two granddaughters, Paige (Kevin) Strauss and Faith Reynolds; a brother, Masahide (Noriko) Shintani; two nieces of Osaka, Japan; and a niece and nephew of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a loving husband of 44 years and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
