Lillie Margaret Hammett, 84, of St. Louis died Monday, March 29, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 2, 1919, at Libauon, Mo., daughter of John and Hattie Roan Templemire. She and Hugo Wenzel were married in 1941 in Riverside, Calif. She later married Tom Hammett in 1970 in St. Louis. Both preceded her in death.
Hammett worked at Small Arms in St. Louis during World War II, and then worked 28 years at St. Regis Paper Co. in O'Fallon, Mo. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Turner of Cape Girar-deau; a brother, Fred Templemire of Broseley, Mo.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home today from 8 a.m. until time of service.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Pringle officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
