CREAL SPRINGS, Ill. -- Lillie Stonecipher Braswell, 79, of Creal Springs, formerly of Tamms, Illinois, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at her home.
She was born Dec. 4, 1936, in Tamms to the late Jesse Houston and Addy Gladys Vick Stonecipher. Lillie married Wayne Braswell on Sept. 19, 1960, in Springfield, Illinois.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Creal Springs.
Lillie is survived by her husband, Wayne; two children, Lela (Richard) Quaid and Wesley (Kelly) Braswell; four grandchildren, Kyle and Matthew Quaid and Cole and Sean Braswell; a sister, Jesse Sowers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; and three sisters, Mary Garrison, Margaret Wilson and Henrietta Cook.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Cosby-Sloan Funeral Home in Creal Springs.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Alan Summers officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in St. John's Cemetery in Dongola, Illinois.
