Lillian Helen Hess, 76, of Scott City died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at her home.
She was born March 18, 1940, in Chaffee, Missouri, to Joseph Marion and Zita Ortha Schaefer Hess.
She taught English and history at Meredosia, Illinois, and also worked at Riverside Regional Library. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, the Council of Catholic Women and Ladies Sodality of the church.
She is survived by three brothers, James Hess of Chaffee, Charles Hess of Scott City and Earl (Pratibha) Hess of Knoxville, Tennessee; and a sister, Alice Hess of Chaffee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Aleen Conway and Betty Dickerson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Missouri.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Joe Weidenbenner as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in Lillian's name.
