Lillian Harmon

Lillian Boehme Harmon, 88, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Scott City, died Monday, April 28, 2008.

Lillian was born April 10, 1920, in Jackson, daughter of Charles and Bertha Loeb Boehme.

She is survived by daughters, Martha (Bill) Joiner of Cape Girardeau, LaDonna (Jim) Suttle of Santa Barbara, Calif.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Della Shoults, Norma Doering, Freida Schaefer and Cornelia Boehme, and a brother, Louis Boehme.

Lillian graduated from Jackson High School in 1938. Vyron Harmon and Lillian Boehme were married July 10, 1942, in Pacific Beach, Calif.

The Harmons owned and operated Harmon Furniture and Appliance in Scott City 45 years. After retirement, the Harmons traveled extensively and Mrs. Harmon gave presentations and lectures to numerous civic and community groups.

She was a lifelong member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City and belonged to Ladies Aid, Couples Club, Bible study groups and taught VBS.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eisleben Lutheran Church. The Rev. Bob Azinger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
