Lillian F. Brown, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Fountainbleau Lodge. She was born March 3, 1940, in Murphysboro, Ill., to Milo S. and Florence A. Blackwell Rains. She and Jerry Douglas Brown were married June 26, 1963, in Belleville, Ill. He preceded her in death May 24, 1979...

Lillian F. Brown, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born March 3, 1940, in Murphysboro, Ill., to Milo S. and Florence A. Blackwell Rains. She and Jerry Douglas Brown were married June 26, 1963, in Belleville, Ill. He preceded her in death May 24, 1979.

Lillian was a graduate of Central High School and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Southeast Missouri State University. She served her internship at Cottonwood Treatment Center.

Survivors include three children, Tonya Richards of Cape Girardeau, Joy Lesar of St. Louis, Jerry Brown of Kansas City, Mo.; four stepchildren, Jerry Williams, Brian Williams, Lisa Turnage and Treasa Russell; a brother, Arthur "Bud" Burton of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Florence Arriola of Santa Ynez, Calif., Becky Rains, Mary Sparks, and Linda Pulliam, all of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Johnny Lesar of Cape Girardeau, Joey Lesar and Rachele Brown of Kansas City, Dillian Statler of Cape Girardeau, Luka Brown of Kansas City, and a granddaughter she raised, Angie Richards of Cape Girardeau; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Paul, Samuel and Milo "Sonny" Rains.

Friends may call noon to service time Sunday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. John Henry Harris and David McNeely officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
