Lila Mae Davis, 83, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, July 16, 1996, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Sept. 8, 1912, in Fredonia, Kan., daughter of Harry and Alice Blizzard Hurlock. She married William L. Davis, who died in 1988.
Davis was a graduate of Emporia State Teachers College in Emporia, Kan. She was an elementary teacher in Iola, Kan., 40 years. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1988 from Olathe, Kan. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Lyle Davis of Wildwood; a daughter, Mona Crane of Overland Park, Kan.; two brothers, Ben Hurlock of Long Beach, Calif., Jerry Hurlock of Iola; five sisters, Mildred Bellinger and Helen Johnston of Hemet, Calif., Beth Wiederstein of Iola, Alice Hopper of Nashville, Tenn., Virginia Cook of Tulsa, Okla., and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery in Iola, with the Rev. Steve Traw officiating.
There is no local visitation. Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
