BATON ROUGE, La. -- Lex Elwood "Honeybee" Brown, 73, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Olive Branch, Ill, and Bardwell, Ky., died Friday at Baton Rouge Health Care.
Brown was born in Bardwell, son of the late Samuel Lex and Ruby Todd Brown of Tamms.
Brown was retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 198 of Baton Rouge and was a member of the Capital Area Bee Keepers, who honored him in 1987.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Gerald of Baton Rouge; a son, Joseph Elwood Brown of New Orleans; a brother, David K. Brown of Tamms, Ill.; two sisters, Marilyn Tinnle of Aurora, Colo., and Helen Phillips of Sterling, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is today at the Rabenhorst Funeral Chapel in Baton Rouge. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Rabenhorst Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Carl Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Garden of Memory Ceremony in Baton Rouge.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in Tamms.
