CAIRO, Ill. -- Lewis F. McRoy, 85, of Cairo died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, at Daystar Care Center.
He was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Carterville, Ill., son of Fred and Lillian Redd McRoy.
Mr. McRoy was a retired salesman with DuQuoin Packing Co. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Cairo Elks Lodge 651.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marie McRoy of Cairo; a son, Fred McRoy Jr. of Olive Branch, Ill.; a sister, Louise Pletcher of Springfield, Ill.; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 10:30 a.m. Sunday until time of service.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
At the request of the family, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to VNA TIP Hospice, 508 S. Park Ave., Herrin, Ill., 62948; Daystar Care Center, 2001 Cedar St., Cairo, Ill., 62914; or Immanuel Lutheran Church, 413 Douglas St., Cairo, in memory of Mr. McRoy.
