DUDLEY -- Lewis W. McGowen, 80, of Dudley died Friday, April 19, 1996, at the Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
He was born April 18, 1916, at Bernie, to William Andrew and Mezella Jane Craft McGowen. He and Mabel Hobbs were married June 10, 1939, at Poplar Bluff.
McGowen had lived in the Dudley area all his life. He was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church near Dudley for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry D. McGowen of Dudley; a daughter, Linda D. McGowen of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Cecil McGowen of Dudley and Thomas McGowen of Puxico; and a sister, Lila Midgett of Dudley. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Revs. Ray Placher and Dolan Morris will officiate. Burial will be in the Hobbs Chapel Cemetery near Dudley.
