MCCLURE, Ill. -- Lewis "Chub" Lovell, 81, of McClure died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at his home.
He was born April 14, 1923, in McClure, son of Clyde Eugene and Minnie Iona Burchyett Lovell. He and Sally Jane Johnson were married Aug. 21, 1964, in Cape Girardeau.
Lovell was a custodian at McClure Grade School more than 15 years, at Southeast Missouri State University more than nine years, and was a school bus driver for Shawnee High School more than 30 years. He retired in 1987. He was a member of McClure Pentecostal Church and Jonesboro Masonic Lodge 111 AF&AM in Jonesboro, Ill.
Survivors include his wife and a sister, Lucille Woodard of McClure.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 8 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Mark Boyd and Greg Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery.
