CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Levern Lingle McGregor, 91, of Carbondale died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Memorial Hospital at Carbondale.
She was born Jan. 26, 1908, at Makanda, daughter of Lou and R.W. Lingle. She and John E. McGregor were married June 28, 1928. He died in August 1977.
She was a retired elementary school teacher having taught in Rendleman, Makanda, Jacob and Rock Springs school districts. She also taught at the Catholic parochial schools at Germantown and Murphysboro.
Survivors include two sons, John McGregor of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Gordon McGregor of Clarkston, Wash.; a brother, Leon Lingle of Carbondale; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home at Anna. Rosary services will be at 6.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Tom Miller will officiate, with burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Memorial Cemetery at Murphysboro.
