PERRYVILLE -- Leva Bishop, 89, formerly of Perryville, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 1994, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Buffalo, Mo. She was born Feb. 19, 1905, at Belgique, daughter of Jacob and Carolyn Cureton Vernon. In 1923 she married Joseph D. Bishop, who preceded her in death...

PERRYVILLE -- Leva Bishop, 89, formerly of Perryville, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 1994, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Buffalo, Mo.

She was born Feb. 19, 1905, at Belgique, daughter of Jacob and Carolyn Cureton Vernon. In 1923 she married Joseph D. Bishop, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Sells of Kansas City, Barbara Sims of Delaware, Okla.; a brother, Elmer Vernon of Perryville; six grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today and after 6:30 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in York Chapel Cemetery.
