Letha Plemons, 97, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Heartland Care Rehab Center.
She was born March 18, 1903, in McMinn County, Tenn., daughter of Walter B. and Maggie Jenkins Christian. She married Walter Plemons, who died Jan. 17, 1960.
Plemons was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Kingston, Tenn., and attended Community Chapel Methodist Church in Willard. She was formerly of Miller City, Ill.
Survivors include three sons, Hugh Swafford of Enfield, Ill., John Plemons of Cape Girardeau, Ronnie Plemons of Jackson, Tenn.; a daughter, June GaVette of Enterprise, Ala.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five children, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be in McCrite Cemetery.
