BENTON -- Letcher A. Bom, 94, of Benton died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born Feb. 11, 1904, in Henderson, Ky., the son of Jacob and Lena Bonenberger Bom. He married Margaret Ellen Wise March 22, 1926, in Benton. She survives...

BENTON -- Letcher A. Bom, 94, of Benton died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 11, 1904, in Henderson, Ky., the son of Jacob and Lena Bonenberger Bom. He married Margaret Ellen Wise March 22, 1926, in Benton. She survives.

He was employed by Ashland Oil Co. as a first mate on a steamboat.

He also is survived by two sons, Herbert Bom of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Robert Bom of Benton; a sister, Iva Ester Johnson of Louisville, Ky.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home at Benton.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Vic Van Schaik officiating.

Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce.
