BENTON, Mo. -- Lester Leroy "Windy" Pease, 75, of Benton died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 17, 1938, in Maynard, Ark., to Murray L. and Mildred L. Moody Pease. He married Margie Freeman May 9, 1959, in Cape Girardeau.
Lester was a retired over-the-road truck driver, shade tree mechanic, farm equipment operator and longtime fisherman.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Lester was the proud father of four daughters with Margie Grant: Gale (Jeffrey) Bohannon and Missy (Tim) Kraft of Scott City, Kay (John) Pease-Smith and Leigh Ann (Jason) Keen of Benton; two brothers, Carl Pease of Cape Girardeau and Lavon Pease of Maynard; loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dwayne Pease; a brother, Jude Pease; and a sister, Anna Lou Freeman.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until time of service Thursday at Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jarrett Cemetery in Maynard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Siteman Cancer Center.
