Lester E. Baker, 75, of Forsyth, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, May 30, 1997, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born May 25, 1922, at Advance. He lived in the Tri Lakes Area for more than 25 years. He was employed for many years by the Sunny Hill Dairy in Southeast Missouri. Lester E. Baker, 75, of Forsyth, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, May 30, 1997, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark.

He was born May 25, 1922, at Advance.

He lived in the Tri Lakes Area for more than 25 years.

He was employed for many years by the Sunny Hill Dairy in Southeast Missouri. Over the years, he also held jobs with the State Fish Hatchery and the Branson schools. He was an avid fisherman.

He was a member of the New Vision General Baptist Church of Taneyville.

He was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Muriel, of the home; three sons, Ken Baker of Ozark, Kevin Baker of Jackson and Bruce Baker of Hollywood, Calif.; four daughters, Kay Brown of Springfield, Mo., Jill McLemore of Kirbyville, Cindy Prince of Harrison, Ark., and Tammy Clem of Stilwell, Kan.; three stepchildren; two half-brothers, Jerry and Grover Baker of Jackson; a half-sister, Carolyn Welker of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son.

Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. today at the Forsyth Whelchel Chapel in Forsyth.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.

The Rev. Jame Hathcock will officiate, with burial at Snapp's Cemetery at Forsyth.
