Lester Dailey, 78, of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Aug. 22, 1918, at Elko, Ill., son of William and Josephine V. Redelman Dailey. He and Gladys Butterfield were married Aug. 7, 1938, at Jackson.
Dailey worked on the railroad for several years. He was a member of Odd Fellow Lodge 675.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Larry Dailey of Bethalto, Ill.; one daughter, Shirley Poole of Cape Girardeau; a brother, John Henry Dailey; a sister, Goldie Smith of Tamms, Ill.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Friends called from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pastor Gary Brothers and Rev. Charles Lance will officiate with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
