Leslie Taylor "LT" Hicks, 79, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Puxico, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 2, 1925, in Puxico. He married Mary Trout Dec. 26, 1946, in Piggott, Ark. She survives.
He was self-employed at Hicks Electric and Heating, and was an emergency medical technician for the Stoddard County Ambulance Service. He also was a caretaker for the Arena Building in Cape Girardeau.
Hicks was also a member of the Puxico United Methodist Church, Puxico VFW Post 2822 and was a volunteer at the veterans home in Cape Girardeau. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Also surviving are two daughters, Shirley Moss and husband Lonnie, and Carolyn Taylor and husband Terry, both of Cape Girardeau; a sister Rilla Smith of Puxico; three grandchildren, Tristie Taylor, Leslie Moss and Brent Taylor; and one great-grandchild, Lane Friedrich.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dorrell Hicks.
The funeral was held Tuesday at Morgan Sifford Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Placher officiating. Burial with graveside military rites was held at Puxico City Cemetery.
