DEXTER -- LeRoy Ray White, 86, of Essex died Friday, July 23, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 13, 1913, at Hunterville, son of Monroe and Elizabeth Kirby White. On Aug. 29, 1936, he married Flora Bell Grim of Bloomfield. She survives.

He had lived in Michigan for 40 years. While in Michigan he was employed by the General Motors truck and coach division, where he built buses. He later moved to Essex, where he operated a bicycle shop. He was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Other survivors include four daughters, Geraldine Barker of Milo, Mich., Sue Bedford of Dexter, Barbara Barton of Pontiac, Mich., and Joyce Jenkinson of Clarkston, Mich.; five sons, Robert White of Kokomo, Ind., Bob White of Davisburg, Mich., Earl and Bill White, both of Lake Orion, Mich., and Lindle White of Pontiac, Mich.; 28 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a sister.

Friends may call at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Monday.

Service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronnie Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Essex Cemetery.
