PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- LeRoy W. Lukefahr, 78, of Perryville died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girar-deau.
He was born July 19, 1926, in Perry County, Mo., son of Joseph Daniel and Emma Gertrude Huber Lukefahr. He and Patsy Oehl were married June 25, 1950.
Lukefahr was a farmer. He was commissioner for the Western District and deputy assessor of Perry County.
He was a member of Crossroads Methodist Church and its choir, administrative council, and Sunday school superintendent many years. He was a member of American Legion Post 133, past member of MFA Advisory Board, Soil and Water Board, Farm Credit Advisory and Perry County Nursing Home Board.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Danny and Dean Lukefahr of Perryville; a daughter, Carol Taylor of Perryville; two brothers, Clyde Lukefahr and Earl Lukefahr of Perryville; a sister, Edna Conrad of Jackson, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and three sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30 a.m. until time of service.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. James Brice and Kevin Conrad officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Methodist Cemetery.
