NEW MADRID -- Funeral service for Leroy "Ted" Lucy Sr. of New Madrid will be held at 2 p.m. today at Kewanee Missionary Baptist Church. Elders Richard Britt and Jerry Dudley will officiate, with burial in Mounds Cemetery near Lilbourn.
Ponder Funeral Home at Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
Lucy, 80, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Jan. 3, 1913, near Charter Oak, son of Fred Worth and Lena Bell Lucy. He and Thelma Emerson were married Oct. 23, 1936.
Lucy was a lifelong farmer in the Catron area, and member of Kewanee Church.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Donald "Ben" Lucy of High Point, N.C., Robert Lucy of Orlando, Fla., Leroy Lucy Jr. of Eureka, Richard Lucy of Clarksville, James Lucy of Jacksonville, Fla., Kenneth Lucy of Jackson.
Also surviving are five daughters, Nancy Hurley of Jacksonville, Anita Boen of Orlando, JoAnn Lewis of Phoenix, Ariz., Mary McCord and Roberta Lucy of Sikeston; two brothers, Richard Lucy of Cape Girardeau, Fred "Pat" Lucy of Benton; a sister, Pearl Hessling of Dexter; 30 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, sister and grandson.
