PERRYVILLE, Mo. — LeRoy W. Hendrix, 70, of Perryville died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.
He was born Jan. 26, 1939, at Silver Lake, Mo., son of John W. and Martha Stacy Hendrix. He and Betty Sparkman were married Dec. 5, 1959. She died July 29, 1991. He and Joan "Ann" West Faircloth were married April 3, 1993.
Hendrix was retired from General Motors Parts Division in Hazelwood, Mo. He was a member of Whitewater Christian Church and a member of Ferguson Masonic Lodge No. 542 and Scottish Rite Body in St. Louis. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include his wife and a stepson, Brent Faircloth of Greenville, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Lee Ann Stout of Plano, Texas, two brothers, Bill Hendrix of Thayer, Mo., and Jerry Hendrix of Farmington, Mo.; five sisters, Shirley Broeker of Pevely, Mo., Wanda Francis of Charleston, Mo., Mary Alice Vinson of Jonesboro, Ark., Brenda Williford of Doe Run, Mo., and Carol Clements of Prophetstown, Ill.; four stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 6:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating.
Burial will be in Whitewater Christian Cemetery in Perryville.
