Leroy Borgfield, 86, of Jackson died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born May 18, 1927, near Jackson, son of Amil and Hulda Marie Heider Borgfield. He and Meta Louise Rubel were married April 8, 1950, and celebrated 63 years together.
He was a member of Laborers Union Local 282. He worked for Gerhardt Construction and Drury Construction, retiring in 1982. After retiring he still had the need to work. He then worked for LaPierre-Sawyer Handle Factory in Jackson and later the city of Jackson at Russell Heights Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Meta of Jackson; two sons, Dariel Lee Borgfield of Jackson and David (Kathy) Borgfield of Millersville; one daughter, Vickie Sanford of Jackson; one brother, Bill Borgfield of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon; three brothers, Don, Paul and Gary Wayne; one sister, Shirley Laverne; and a grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.
