CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for Leonard Vowels, Charleston Route 3, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Henry's Catholic Church. The Rev. Raymond Kunkel will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery.
McMikle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Vowels, 76, died Saturday, July 25, 1992, at his home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1915, in Mississippi County, son of Andrew Jackson and Maggie Shively Vowels. He and Anna Elizabeth Church were married Feb. 6, 1936. She died Jan. 7, 1977.
Vowels was a retired farmer; member of St. Henry's Church, Charleston Knights of Columbus and Sikeston Eagles.
Survivors include a niece, Mary Kathryn Hunt of Bertrand; a great-nephew, James Hunt of Jackson, and great-niece, Beverly Morgan of Dardanelle, Ark.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
