Leonard Fritz Moore, 99, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at The Lutheran Home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1913, in Delta to Charles and Anna Bock Moore. He and Hulda L. Maevers were married Nov. 4, 1939, in Cape Girardeau. She died Jan. 22, 2006.
Moore was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He worked for the International Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau and the Florsheim Shoe Factory and retired in 1979. He was a member of evangelical United Church of Christ and a lifetime member of American Legion Post No. 63 and VFW Post 3838.
Survivors include two sons, Albert (Carolyn) Moore of Cape Girardeau and Frank (Betty) Moore of Cobden, Ill.; two daughters, Jean Lewis of Benton, Mo., and Mary (Paul) Robertson of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, eight brothers, four sisters and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors by the Missouri Honors Team.
