BENTON, Mo. -- Leonard Ray Long, 64, of Benton died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Mo.

He was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Columbus, Ky., son of Byoma and Addie May Wilson Long.

Long had worked at Yellow Freight Co. of Detroit, Mich. He moved here 15 years ago from Detroit.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include a son, Danny Long of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Debbie Robinson of Phoenix, Ariz.; four brothers, Harry Quertermous of Scott City, Arvel and Virgil Long of Benton, Bobby Long of Marshall, Mo.; a sister, Carolyn Butrum of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Marvin Butrum officiating. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery.
