Leonard A. LaCroix Jr., 84, of Jackson died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau. He was born May 25, 1931, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Leonard A. and Desiree M. Bridges LaCroix Sr. He and Patricia Mae Thomas LaCroix were married Sept. 4, 1965, at San Leandro, California. She preceded him in death Sept. 7, 2011, in Athens, Texas...

Leonard A. LaCroix Jr., 84, of Jackson died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 25, 1931, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Leonard A. and Desiree M. Bridges LaCroix Sr. He and Patricia Mae Thomas LaCroix were married Sept. 4, 1965, at San Leandro, California. She preceded him in death Sept. 7, 2011, in Athens, Texas.

He is survived by his only daughter, Brenda, who was born May 9, 1969. Len was a committed, loving husband and dad until the day he passed.

Len served in the Air Force from Jan. 5, 1951, to Dec. 9, 1954, which lead to his lifelong love of airplanes.

Len was a dedicated employee as lead maintenance mechanic for United Airlines in San Francisco, retiring after 40 years of service. After retirement, Len and Pat moved from California to Nebraska to help his in-laws build up their community, and then on to Texas, where they both volunteered at a local community theater. After the passing of his wife, Len decided he wanted to move home and came back to Jackson with his daughter, Brenda. He was a member of three bowling leagues and volunteered at the Senior Center in Jackson.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson and was a devoted Catholic his entire life.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda LaCroix of Jackson; sister Sue (Frank) Farris of Cameron Park, California; niece Teri (Mark) Tindall; nephew David Farris; niece Lisa (Mark) Becker; nephew Richard Farris (Bill O'Donnell); nephew Michael (Cindy) Calasopa; sister Amy (Frank) Calasopa; nephew Steven Calasopa; and niece DeeAnn (John) Cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A memorial Mass will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, with the Rev. John Harth officiating.
