ALLENVILLE -- Funeral service for Leonard A. Hopper of Cuba, Mo., was held Friday at Douglas Brown Funeral Home in Wright City. The Rev. Werner Strick officiated, with burial in Wright City Cemetery.
Hopper, 86, died suddenly Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla.
He was born Feb. 8, 1911, at Allenville, son of Edward and Martha A. Andrews Hopper. He and Helen Mary Eggimann were married June 16, 1934, in Belton. She died Nov. 17, 1974.
Hopper retired in 1973 from Cessna Aircraft Co. in Wichita, Kan. He moved to Cuba in 1976 from Wright City. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Wright City.
Survivors include three daughters, Vera Matz of Florence, Ariz., Doris Neill of Rolla, Barbara Sexton of St. Peters; a son, Charles Hopper of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.
