PUXICO, Mo. -- Leona D. Crawford, 84, of Puxico died Friday, June 8, 2001, at Wappapello, Mo.
She was born April 1, 1917, in Essex, Mo., daughter of Charlie and Elizabeth Sweet Clayton. She and William O. Crawford Sr. were married Aug. 1, 1942, in Puxico. He died June 23, 1968.
Crawford was a member of Puxico General Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, William Crawford Jr. and Charles Crawford of Wappapello; three brothers, Hubert Clayton of Sedgewickville, Mo., James Denton of Patton, Mo., Wilson Denton of Libby, Mont.; three sisters, Oma Pond of Rockford, Ill., Myrtle Slinkard of Jackson, Mo., and Dorothy Fiske of Marble Hill, Mo.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Puxico Cemetery. William Crawford Jr. will officiate.
