Leon Whitler, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, June 13, 2016, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1926, in Gordonville to Pauline Brase and Elbert Whitler.
Leon was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville.
Leon retired from Cape Mutual Insurance Co.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Morris; two daughters, Becki (David) Dahlstedt of Mountain View, Arkansas, and Bonnie Whitler (Otho Hinchey) of Richmond, California; a grandson, Nathan Hinchey of Brooklyn, New York; a stepdaughter, Robin Keim of Cape Girardeau; a stepgrandson, Jeremy (Chassey) Cook of Jackson; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden, Kaylie and Jaxon.
Leon was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Keller; and his brother, Louis Whitler.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 am Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joel Kidwell officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smile Train or Southeast Hospice.
