Funeral for Leon West of Cleveland, Tenn., will be held at 11 a.m. today at Fike Funeral Home in Cleveland. The Rev. Paul McKeehan will officiate. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
West, 77, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at his home.
He was born in Illinois, son of Franklin and MaryAnn Fann West.
West retired as highway superintendent in Illinois. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church in Cleveland, Illinois Highway Superintendents Association, and a past president of a Kiwanis Club in Illinois. He moved to Cleveland after retiring.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita; three daughters, Barbara Houston of Dayton, Tenn., Jana Stevens of San Antonio, Texas, Sheri Kirillov of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Alice Kelley of Muskogee, Okla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters.
